ASP.NET is a server side web application framework built by Microsoft and designed to create dynamic Web pages. This framework was introduced back to January 2002 with the initial release version 1.0 of .Net Framework. It is the next generation version of Active Server Pages known as ASP.

One of the big advantages of ASP.Net compare to the old version of ASP, it comes with heaps of built in class framework that make your programming effortless and time saving. The separation of the front end html and back end codes make it even easier to program. It is designed as server side platform which means it runs on a web server.
